When it comes to putting yourself out there, instead of always being the one taking the picture or behind the scenes, there can often be underlying reasons as to why you don’t want to feature yourself. Having confidence inside and out is so important. We can all make excuses at the time, oftentimes we let our mind persuade us not to be involved, but why? That is low confidence and self-doubt that we may or may not be aware of maybe stopping you from going after what you want.

However, the truth is we all know there are plenty of opportunities to get in on the action when it comes to capturing pictures and actually being in them. This is figuratively speaking and literally, you don’t have to avoid it.

With that in mind, here are some of the ways you can start to feel comfortable with putting yourself out there.

Take time in your appearance each day

Many of us can agree that when we look good, we feel good. So a great tip to feel more confident and put the self-doubt to bed is to take more pride in your appearance. This might be taking extra care when picking your outfits, spending an extra ten minutes in the morning to apply some make-up or do something with your hair. Whatever makes you feel good just indulge in it. This way whenever the opportunity does arise to put yourself front and center the memory through a picture will leave you feeling confident and proud.

What causes you to feel less confident

A big thing to overcome would be to figure out exactly what it is that stops you from being in the pictures stepping out of your comfort zone. That little voice in your head has come from some lack of self-confidence somewhere, so what is it? There are some common reasons, it might be your skin condition, weight gain or self-worthiness. However, a focus on a new routine, your diet and exercise could help to naturally improve things. Something as simple as getting an appointment with the dentist to discover new ways to improve your smile or seek advice when dental implants are needed if teeth whitening is an option, or some of the other things you could consider may help. Don’t be afraid to tackle what it is that stops you in your tracks, and either accept and embrace the uniqueness or make positive changes for the better.

Don’t listen to the inner voice

This may be easier said than done, but often we can give a big platform to that inner critic of ours when really, they don’t have much value to their points. We are all unique, different and valid, and so to avoid capturing a memory just because a little voice in our head says we don’t look good enough, or we are not having a good skin day, for example, isn’t ideal. Instead, just embrace who you are. The people with you love you for who you are and it can be the biggest learning curve to start loving yourself in exactly the same way. Stop listening to the inner voice and say yes.

Let’s hope these tips help you when it comes to being in front of the camera a little more often.
