3 ways to practice self-care every day of the week

If we go through life always counting down to the weekend, we won’t get to enjoy our beautiful lives to the fullest. It’s important to design your life doing what you love, and taking time to check in with yourself every day could be the answer to that success. The smallest amount of self-care goes a long way. Because this movement is one of the biggest wellness trends this year, I think it’s a perfect opportunity to share ways you can practice self-care. Through the weekend and into your work week, let’s be sure we are living our best lives!

Wear something that makes you feel comfortable and confident

It’s always been known that if you feel good about what you’re wearing, you’re going to carry that positive energy into everything you do that day. The key to feeling comfortable throughout the day really starts with what we put on under our outfit. A perfectly fitted bra has the power to give you all day comfort and loads of confidence. The right kind of bra can even improve your posture! Working in the fitness industry, I’m always looking for the most comfortable clothing to wear throughout my day of classes and workouts. When I’m wearing something that makes me feel good, I can focus more on my clients success.

Practice yoga or meditation

If you’re a regular yogi, you won’t have to think twice about this one. There’s something euphoric about a good yoga or meditation practice that makes you feel naturally at peace, and that all is right at the moment. These times of mindfulness is what our busy brains crave every day.  What’s great about yoga and meditation is that they’re designed for everyone. Unplugging for just an hour or a ten-minute meditation a couple days a week lifts your mood and overall wellbeing. Practicing meditation will even help you get a better night's sleep! If we can carve out time for these calming activities, you’ll see an improvement in your mood, especially your patience on a busy day.

Set up a stress-reducing workspace

No matter where you work, there are ways to make your workspace feel inviting and stress-free. If you work inside an office all day, reduce stress by keeping some lavender infused hand lotion and antioxidant-rich herbal teas to sip on, as both hold calming properties to keep you focused all day. A quick desk workout could also split the day up and ease the mind. See if you can get your coworkers to join in! Implementing collaborative efforts like this within the corporate culture is proven to increase productivity.

And if you work in an industry like fitness, having some greenery in the studio and an essential oil diffuser with mood-boosting oils such as eucalyptus and sandalwood will allow the space to feel welcoming without worrying about distractions. We spend most of our lives working, hopefully doing what we love, so it’s important to make sure we surround yourself in a space that makes us want to stay and prosper.

Bringing those moments of comfort and luxury into the work week will do wonders for your mind and body. Finding the natural balance of self-care and hard work will set you up to be the best version of yourself. Don’t skip out on your life during the week by drowning in your work and other responsibilities. After all, who said the weekends should start on Friday?
