KRISP Fresh Living is a line of organic cold-pressed juices that is part of an important cultural revolution, advocating sustainable farming practices, and the elimination of chemical toxins from our food supply. Pure raw and organic ingredients are used to create their juice products.
With recipes developed by Liliana Partida, from the Center for New Medicine in Irvine, CA, KRISP Fresh Living is a juice brand that utilizes the cold-pressed method in order to preserve the nutrients and live enzymes of the ingredients in their juices. I had an opportunity to ask Liliana a few questions regarding her juice line. Continue reading and see why you should starting including fresh juices into your diet.
NMF: What are benefits of seed milk vs. regular milk?
KRISP: Seed milks are non-dairy, and filled with other nutrients that are not found in milk. For example, our Cacao Sunflower Seed Milk contains sunflower seeds, which are rich in selenium, known to preserve elastin to keep skin smooth and tight. Sunflower seeds also contain vitamin E, which protects against toxins such as air pollution, eye disorders such as cataracts, neurological diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, and diabetes.
NMF: To score glowing skin, customers should seek juices with what key ingredients?
KRISP: For glowing skin, I would recommend juices with these ingredients:
Beets are filled with folic acid, carotenoids and silica, which together serve to promote the growth of strong healthy skin, and hair with a glossy sheen.
Citrus fruits are abundant in vitamin C, serving as a powerful anti-oxidant that boosts immunity, prevents hair loss, and brightens skin.
Ginger contains 40 antioxidant compounds that protect against aging, and improves the appearance of skin by removing toxins and stimulating circulation, resulting in delivery of more nutrients to the skin.
Coconut water provides cytokines and lauric acid, which are vital to cell growth and regulation. These compounds have significant anti-ageing, anti-carcinogenic and anti-thrombotic properties that help to minimize aging in skin, balance PH levels, and keep connective tissues hydrated and strong.
Leafy greens such as kale and spinach contain lutein and zeaxanthin, which protect cells from the damaging effects of free radicals, caused from sun-induced inflammation. They are also rich in folic acid, which aids in the repair of DNA and reduces the risk of skin cancer. In addition, leafy greens also contain vitamin A, vitamin K, and iron. Iron aids circulation to the entire body, including the skin, while vitamin K helps prevent varicose veins.
Carrots are filled with vitamin A from carotenoids. Vitamin A prevents the overproduction of skin cells, which can lead to clogged pores and skin cancer.
Apples contain quercetin, an antioxidant in the peel that protects against sun damage.
