In May 2022, I underwent a full thyroidectomy that significantly impacted my larynx. My voice, which I had always cherished, became so weak that it would give out entirely—sometimes reduced to no more than a whisper. I remember one night crying because I couldn’t sing my boys to sleep.

Just a few months later, an incredible opportunity came my way: to lead a live meditation for over 300 women on stage. It felt impossible. My voice was far from ready, and the fear of failure loomed large.

But instead of saying, “I can’t,” I said, “Yes.” I leaned into the challenge, found a holistic voice coach, and embarked on an unapologetic journey of healing. Through this experience, I rediscovered my inner strength and learned to embrace imperfection.

What seemed like a loss became a profound opportunity for growth and connection.

This experience taught me the power of reframing challenges into opportunities, and it inspired me to create The Growth Project: A Month of Giving Back—a 30-day challenge designed to transform your mindset and help you discover the joy of giving.
