Nine Tricks For Younger Looking Skin

Contributing post

Fine lines, dark spots and dry skin on the face can all make you look a lot older. All of us like to look young, but might not be willing to resort to more extreme methods like facelifts, botox, or surgery. There are some different tricks to get younger-looking skin that are much less intrusive.

  1. Face yoga.  Face yoga is very popular in Japan as a natural way to restore a youthful glow. Sleeping muscles in the face are woken up for plumper, tauter appearance to your skin. It also trains your face out of the expressions that lead to more fine lines and wrinkles.

  2. Always moisturize before applying your foundation. As skin ages, it holds on to less moisture. Many older women swap to a heavy, cream foundation to combat this, but this can actually achieve the opposite result. Instead, apply a rich moisturizer all over your face, and then put on your usual foundation.

  3. Try skin resurfacing. Skin resurfacing uses lasers to improve the appearance of skin with fine lines, scars, pigment, or sun damage. The lasers also penetrate deep into the skin to encourage the production of collagen, which makes your skin look more youthful. Speak to an expert like Dr. Glicksman to find out if this option is for you.

  4. Try a collagen-based face cream. Collagen is important for skin that looks fresh and plump. Collagen face creams are expensive but can leave you with skin that looks tighter and more toned, so it can be well worth the investment if you can afford it.

  5. Conceal your dark circles. Concealer can be difficult if you have lines around your eyes as it can sink into the lines, making them appear more obvious. To stop this from happening, use your concealer only on the inner half of your under-eye to disguise any darkness without drawing more attention to your wrinkles. If this still doesn’t work, swap out your concealer for a highlighter pen.

  6. Apply SPF daily. An SPF is especially important around your eye area. Your eyelid skin and the skin under your eyes is the thinnest on your body, so any sun damage will show up quickly with dilating and increased blood flow. Never skip your SPF.

  7. Remove your eye makeup gently. Tugging and pulling at the delicate skin around your eye area by taking your makeup off in a hurry can cause sagging. Try to avoid pulling at your eyes, and always use a gentle cleanser and a light hand when removing makeup from around the eye area.

  8. Eat fruits and vegetables that are packed with vitamin C. Vitamin C is a natural booster of collagen. Collagen keeps your skin firm and young-looking. Bell peppers and strawberries are both great options for a vitamin C  hit.

  9. Eat salmon. Salmon is high in Omega-3 fatty acids, which reduce inflammation, helping your skin to look better. Try to eat at least one person of salmon or other oily fish a week to get the most benefits.
