I'll Have What She's Having: LUVO
I don't usually opt for a frozen meal for dinner or lunch, mainly because they tend to to be packed with tons of sodium even though the calorie content is low (always read the labels).
When I was asked to test out the frozen meals by Luvo, formerly known as LYFE Kitchen Retail Inc. I was hesitant at first. I decided to give it a shot after reading more about Luvo and always being open to discovering new healthy diet options. I am glad that I did! By using fresh combinations of herbs and spices, and healthy alternatives like cashew milk in place of butters and creams, Luvo has created healthier versions of the meals and snacks without sacrificing the taste.
Luvo meals are less than 500 calories and contain 500 mg of sodium or less each entrée.
Entrees are cooked in an oven or microwave in their exclusive, patented paper pouch (better than a plastic film over your food), modeled on the classic French en papillote technique. This cooking style helps maintain the abundance of nutrients in the food and the natural color and flavor of fruits and vegetables, while minimizing the packaging footprint.
Luvo meals will be available at major retailers such as Target, Publix, Safeway, Fred Meyer, ShopRite, Whole Foods Market California and more.
