Sarah Dineen is the founder and creator of the UK based company 360 Fitness. She focuses on Group Classes (Pilates, Bootcamp, pre and postnatal) and offers exotic fitness retreat getaways like the one she has planned for May in Ibiza (Pilates in Paradise)!  Naturally I gravitated to Sarah's love for fitness and had to interview her for my weekly Fitness Files series! NMF: Has fitness always been a major part of your life or was there a catalyst/point in your life when you made it more of a focus and priority?

Sarah Dineen (SD): Absolutely, I used to be a dancer and worked abroad for many years, then I trained to become a scuba diving instructor and ran a dive center out in Thailand - but my career changed to complete fitness when I fell pregnant with my daughter. After the tsunami hit Thailand back in 2004, I returned to the UK with my husband, and fell into a desk job - but once I fell pregnant with my daughter they made me redundant. So I took my passion of fitness and decided to make a career out of it. So I retrained whilst pregnant to be a Personal Trainer and Pilates instructor specialising on Pre and Post Natal, and my community based fitness programme Fit2Drop was born, and now more recently my online studiothisis360fitness.com

NMF: What are a few of your go-to healthy snacks/drinks that help keep you on the straight and narrow?
SD: You can always find a few tins of mackeral in my car - as I work freelance visiting my clients in their homes, I need to have things that wont go off if they stay in my car. I also reach for 9 bars should I need a pick me up and boost of energy, with the carob ones being my favourites. Then lastly if I am not out and about on the road, I will have avocado and chilli on sourdough toast, or bliss balls made from dates, raisins, cacoa and coconut.

NMF: At Nadia Murdock Fit our motto is “Train Your Mind, Change Your Body” so we must ask: How do you train your mind and stay motivated?

SD: I keep motivated because I LOVE how exercising and nutrition makes me feel. Being a busy working mum, it's so important that I have a routine, and I schedule in time each week for my exercise, without it I know my mind suffers, and of course my body too. My daughter is my biggest fan, and if I can be a healthy role model for her, showing her that fitness and eating well is good for you, then I have achieved. I asked my daughter what I did the other day and her response was 'you make other mummies feel fit and strong' that is what keeps me motivated.

NMF: How do you change your body?
SD: For me it's all about balance, I eat well most of the time (I'm no saint and do enjoy a treat and glass of wine!) but I balance this out with exercising regularly during the week and pushing my body. If I have entered a competition or like a lot of women are going on holiday - then I will step up my eating regime, ditching the treats and increasing the exercise.

NMF: What are your fitness favorites?
SD: Ooh I have so many, my weekly routine consists of barbell workouts - I love the feeling of lifting weights and pushing myself. I then go out running a couple of time a week to help clear my mind and enjoy the outdoors. Then my firm favourite is Pilates - its pushes me in so many ways - mentally, physically and internally - as you have to control your body and your breath - not to mention all of the physical and mental benefits it gives you as well.
