NMFIT Fat Frying Medicine Ball Workout
Boredom is one of the number one reasons someone might give up on their workout routine! So as a way to keep things interesting I like to take my fitness routine outside and grab a couple of my fitness accessories to create a nice and challenging workout. I recently purchased a medicine ball, below are a few moves that I put together with my medicine ball at my side!
Warm Up:
- 1 min jumping jacks
- 30 second high knees
- 30 second jumping jacks
- 1 minute squats
Medicine Ball Run: Select a weighted medicine ball that is challenging, while holding the ball run back and forth across a set distance in your local park, football field or even in your backyard. Run as far as you can (set a goal) and run back, this will complete one set. The workout is very similar to suicides while holding a medicine ball. I did this for 5 sets.
Medicine Ball Toss: Either while seated on a bench (more challenging) or seated on the grass elevate you legs at a 90 degree angle. With a partner toss a medicine ball back and forth while maintaining proper form and balance. Make sure to keep your core engaged and legs elevated! I performed this move for one minute (3 sets) with a 30 second break in between.
I finished up with my favorite cardio burst of jumping rope!
