NMF: Has fitness always been a major part of your life or was there a catalyst/point in your life when you made it more of a focus and priority?

AZ: Yes, my first job was teaching tennis to children at age 16. By 17 years of age I was teaching Jazz Dance at a Dance Studio in Buffalo, NY and by 18 I was certified and teaching group fitness classes, starting with Step Reebok classes. I haven’t stopped teaching since!

NMF: What are a few of your go-to healthy snacks/drinks that help keep you on the straight and narrow?

AZ: I drink a lot of green tea with hemp milk throughout the day, and for a snack I either make a smoothie or dip 100% cacao into a little manuka honey. These feel so indulgent but they are really very healthy!

NMF: At Nadia Murdock Fit our motto is “Train Your Mind, Change Your Body” so we must ask: How do you train your mind and stay motivated?

AZ: I feel that I know my body well, and therefore what I need to maintain my fitness levels. I am not hardcore about anything, but moderate and consistent on keeping my body moving and flexible. My motivation is to keep my energy flowing and fitness levels maintained because  I feel that I perform better at everything in life– mentally, physically, and spiritually.

NMF: How do you change your body?  What are your fitness favorites?

AZ: Pilates and Yoga combined are my go-to favorites, but I also love hiking and spinning to keep my cardiovascular system up to speed.

Training minds, and changing bodies!
